FNAC's synopsis:
A 72-page book + 160 unpublished photos and the original
film on DVD
He hovers over Control an impression of mystery,
underlined by the black white licks of the director
Anton Corbin. This mystery is that of a man, Ian Curtis.
In his book, Christophe Conte retraces the life of Ian,
revives the rich hours of the English post-punk period
at the heart of which he revealed himself. He analyzes
the iconic titles of Joy Division, looking for the
reasons that led Ian Curtis to permanently lose control.
And at the end, the Ian Curtis mystery remains intact.
The author: Christophe Conte has been a journalist at
Les Inrockuptibles since 1991. He has also written
several books on song and rock, including biographies of
Nino Ferrer and Etienne Daho. Columnist on radio and
television, he co-directed with Gaétan Châtaigner for
France 4 two documentaries on François de Roubaix and
David Bowie.
