Joy Division

23rd May 1979: Bowdon Vale Youth Club, Altrincham

With John Dowie and A Certain Ratio (OMD pulled out)

Bowdon Vale wasn't a youth club - it was a Social Club and cost 25p to join

This gig was one of the few times Joy Division played the Still version of "The kill".

This artwork was produced, on the request of ACR, by painter and fellow Factory artist Ann Quigley (from The Swamp Children and Kalima). It was used at the venue on the night, and was pinned up either behind the admission desk, or on the door window - Ann can't remember exactly which.

The size is 54cm x 79cm and it was painted on card, on the back of other artwork, see images above..

This was the only, hand-painted, poster. No copies were made
