Super-8:

Super-8 film came in 50ft and 200ft cartridges and could be used at two different speeds. The combination of these determined the length of the film that could be made:
50 foot cartridge
Frames per second Film length
18 3 mins 30 sec
24 2 mins 30 secs

These were the cartridges used by the average home enthusiast.

200 foot cartridge
Frames per second Film length
18
24 12 - 14 minutes

A 200 ft cartridge would have cost approx $50 excluding  processing. in the late 1970s and cameras such as Nizo, Elmo, Cannon or Beaulieu that took these larger rolls cost about $500. These costs would have put these longer films beyond the reach of the average home enthusiast.
